Assistant Professor Scottie Chih-Chieh Huang, Ph.D. is a Taiwanese media artist and designer, born in 1982, lives and works between Taipei and Hsinchu. He is director of the Studio of SCOTTIE HUANG KINETIC, the Biologically Inspired Objects (BIO) Lab, and the Innovation and Creativity Center (ICC) at the Chung Hua University. He has currently served as a core board member of the Digital Art Committee and as a juror for Digital Art Exhibition at ACM SIGGRAPH. Focus upon the use of interactive media for developing digital art, kinetic sculptures, and futuristic furnishings. He hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Architecture from NTUST, Master of Science degree in Architecture from NCTU, and Bachelor of Architecture degree from NTUT.
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany; SaloneSatellite, Milano, Italy; ISEA Art Exhibition, Maraya Art Park, Sharjah; iF Design Exhibition, Hamburg; Red Dot Design Exhibition, Berlin; Avignon Off Festival, France; Holland Animation Film Festival, Netherlands; ACM SIGGRAPH/Leonardo Art Gallery, New Orleans; SIGGRAPH Asia Art Gallery, Singapore; SIGGRAPH DAC online Exhibition; K11 Art Space, Hong Kong; National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts; Taipei Fin Arts Museum; Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei; Kuanda Museum of Fine Arts; as well as the Prague Quadrennial, Czech Republic. Scottie is extensively profiled in global media, appearing in such publications as the ELLE, DECOR Italia, Domus, Living Corriere della Sera, and Sandu Cultural Media.
His researches and works have been featured in many international academic publications, such as ACM, IEEE, Springer, MIT Press, and IGI Global.
During his career as an artist and educator, Scottie has taught at TNUA on new media art, SCU on fashion design, NTUST on architecture, and teaching NTUT on interaction design.
